During this continued period of exponential growth for Market Dojo, we are pleased to have welcomed our latest recruit Callum, who has joined us as a Content Marketing Executive.
What do you do at Market Dojo and how long have you worked there for?
As I write this I am only halfway through my second day, but my role within the company is to help contribute to and strengthen MD’s marketing team! A large part of my role is to generate attractive content that in turn will help produce leads for our sales pros here and also help with the company’s branding and PR as we continue to grow.
How have you found your time so far at Market Dojo and what have you found interesting?
I love the approach to work that everybody in the company has and how open and passionate everybody seems to be. We are working with a great product that can add so much value to so many businesses, so the feeling of passion is completely contagious.
What is the most unusual job you have ever had?
Unfortunately, I haven’t had the chance to shave dolphins or do anything equally as unusual, but when I was 18 I worked at Marks and Spencer’s and was placed in the lingerie department, which seemed a pretty unusual department to put an 18 year old boy in.
What is your favourite movie?
My favourite movie has to be ‘Step Brothers’. I used to watch it almost daily growing up with my roommate at school and can still to this day quote every word to the film. I’m the type of person who pauses a film and asks “did you not hear/get that?” if the person in my company hasn’t laughed at something I deem to be funny…
What is the most embarrassing song you have on your phone?
I’ve gone through so many musical fads in my time that shuffle on Spotify is just no longer an option for fear of what might come on next. My dad also shares my Spotify so when I’ve had a run of 2/3 songs you can almost guarantee that the next one is a classic dad tune.
What are your hobbies and interests?
I have watched hundreds and hundreds of documentaries, but my biggest hobby and frankly unhealthy obsession is buying and selling trainers. Any room you enter in our house will have a box of my shoes stored away on top of a wardrobe or under a bed. The spare room at my parents’ house often looks like a Nike stock room, much to their dismay.
What is your biggest claim to fame?
In 2012 I attended the James Bond Skyfall premiere in Berlin, getting to walk the red carpet and all! Unfortunately, the whole film was in German with no subtitles so I had to imagine what the characters were saying for 2 hours. But what should have been the highlight was coming out of the toilets before the film and bumping into the leading man Daniel Craig. The moment completely got the better of me and rather than ask for an autograph, compliment him on his performance, or jokingly ask if I could be in his next film, all I managed to murmur was “alright” and give an awkward nod before swiftly pacing off like an inbetweener.
If you could be any animal what would you be?
It’s a close toss-up between a monkey and a lion but I think monkey just takes it. Who doesn’t love monkeys? They’re always having fun and more often than not live in amazing countries!
Where have you travelled? Favourite place?
Growing up in Germany I was fortunate that I got to experience most of Europe from an early age. In recent years I have visited the UAE, United States and recently returned from travelling in South East Asia. My favourite place to date is probably Singapore. I love how clean and safe everything feels there, it’s a booming economy and they have invested their money in the most amazing attractions.
What’s on your bucket list?
There are so many places that I still want to visit like Tokyo, Shanghai, Sydney, Mumbai and too many others to name, but what is top of my list is to one day travel across America. I love taking photos while on my travels so it would be great to one day have a collection from all around the world.
