Market Dojo will be attending the EIC Connect Oil & Gas Conference on the 27th & 28th of November 2018, making our presence felt amongst some of the biggest key decision makers from the major Oil & Gas companies globally, for the first time in our short history.
Why will Market Dojo be partaking? Well, very good question but historically Market Dojo has held a very special place for some of these huge organisations helping them optimise opportunity, analyse and onboard suitable suppliers and achieve the best cost within the market space from using our simple, easy and engaging solutions.
Market Dojo’s first venture into this industry began back in 2012 with KazStroyService…
KazStroyService originally looked at our tool with a view of mitigating challenges with the regional supply markets. Quick auctions were seen as the best route for finding fair prices for goods or services in an open and honest way. This helped reduce the chances of price manipulation or even fraud.
Very quickly they were auctioning all types of equipment. Over the years we’ve encountered eAuctions on goods that we will never fathom, such as ‘Gas Spuds’ although KSS auctioned our personal favourite, the ‘Pig Launcher/Receiver’.
We truly hoped it might be something to do with Angry birds or perhaps even a fantastic device for aerially transporting swine from A to B in a highly efficient manner. Sadly we have since been told it is something to do with cleaning industrial pipelines.
We work with a very large exploration and production company with operations in Qatar who use Market Dojo to run competitive eAuctions on vessel hire. They have achieved great price reductions by running these eAuctions which were previously negotiated using traditional, manual methods. This organisation had considered running reverse auctions within their existing ERP solution but found that this was extremely cumbersome, so opted for our easy to use and affordable application instead.
We also work extensively across the globe with Aggreko, a leading temporary power generation company. As well as using our eSourcing tool for an array of indirect spend categories, the tool has also be customised to become an innovative freight Marketplace, powered by the reverse auction functionality to ensure market rates for each and every freight spot purchase. Consequential to this is that Aggreko have fantastic data of all their historic freight purchases, including mileage, truck type, cargo value, collection & delivery addresses and complete negotiation data. This has transformed their service to clients by providing much more accurate quotations and benchmarking than ever before.
Finally, we work closely with a global Engineering & Construction corporation serving the Oil & Gas sector, assisting them with a bid in the Africa. Our supplier onboarding & information management tool was found to be instrumental to this client, as the sheer simplicity of our solution allowed for the client to reach out to an under-developed region of the world with ease. Supplier engagement and uptake was excellent and enhanced the proposition of the client’s bid by creating an approved, compliant supply chain in preparation for the delivery phase.
