We have recently added yet another member of staff to our Business Development team. Eve Eyres has joined Market Dojo as our newest Business Development Manager. As with all new members of staff, we wanted to get to know Eve and get a grasp of her personality and interests. Below is a quick Q & A:
What made you apply to work at Market Dojo?
I was previously working within the UK innovation agency where I was working with several different types of innovative entrepreneurial companies, building exposure and understanding as to what a potential high growth firm is and what constitutes an innovative company. From this experience, I was astounded by the innovative nature of Market Dojo’s eSourcing platform and how it could be used to streamline procurement processes for companies within several different industries. It was this element that fully attracted me to the company and I look forward to what the future holds here as a business development manager.
How have you found your time so far at Market Dojo and what have you found interesting?
Well, I’ve only been working at Market Dojo for two days so far but I can already tell that Market Dojo is the perfect company for my next professional step. The solution they offer is easy to understand with a clear need for their solution in the market. Their offices also sit in a lovely countryside surrounding which is perfect for a woman that comes from Devon and the team are so warm and welcoming that it makes coming into work fun, friendly and business focused.
What one thing would you bring to the office if you could?
Meet PEANUT, my hedgehog. It may sound a little odd, but I actually got given a hedgehog for Christmas. He has a pretty spiky personality so it would be fun to have him running around the office keeping us all company.
What is one thing about yourself that you think others would be surprised to know?
I’m pretty spontaneous and love a new challenge which can probably be demonstrated through the fact I’ve done two solo skydives. It was pretty scary and I couldn’t wear my glasses so struggled to aim for the right field. Needless to say, the first time I nearly landed on a GoKart course and the second time I landed a field away from where I was supposed to so I think I’ll stick to safer sports for now.
Where have you travelled and where is next on your bucket list to travel to?
I am actually part Spanish and Greek Cypriot with family in Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Spain and Cyprus, so travelling has become second nature to me. I absolutely love seeing new cultures and meeting new people but I have to say my favourite place I have been to so far is Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; I spent days hiking mountains and the evenings partying at massive street festivals. I think the next place I would love to travel around is Asia; the beaches and food look absolutely amazing!
