Following a brief discussion at an eWorld procurement event in the UK, Interserve purchased a single £500 monthly licence with Market Dojo to run an eAuction on ‘Fire and Security Services’.
The eAuction resulted in success, whilst gaining stakeholder buy-in with the functionality and the ease of use of the Market Dojo platform. This inspired the business case for Interserve to explore a company-wide roll-out the following year.
Interserve ran a major tender, involving over 30 providers, in search of an enterprise solution that would be easy to use at all levels, to ensure adoption from both buyers and suppliers.
Following the Request for Proposal stage, Interserve narrowed the market down to three possible solutions, each of which was put through an intense hands-on workshop in front of a panel of 27 stakeholders, including senior stakeholders.
Due to Market Dojo’s unrivalled procurement expertise and innovative solutions, Market Dojo was selected in partnership with Per Angusta to provide the right solution.
Instead of selecting a traditional Procurement ‘full suite’, Interserve opted for the best of breed approach, using Market Dojo for eSourcing and Category Planning, and Per Angusta providing Pipeline and Savings tracking. Interserve benefitted from the best of each module, neatly integrated to ensure smooth data flow, and two sets of experts in each specific domain. Interserve recognised the pitfalls of a single suite approach that may have been of a high standard on certain functionalities, but below average on others.
Interserve saw near immediate returns from the implementation of Market Dojo and Per Angusta, with the start-up process lasting only a few weeks. This is near unparalleled compared to the roll-out of more traditional enterprise procurement solutions.
Interserve now has in excess of 80 active users and has saved over £10 million in the first 18 months of using the solution. Since implementation, the business has hosted a wide range of Facilities Management tenders including; maintenance, public displays and Health & Safety.
The two solutions are fully integrated, negating the need to enter information multiple times, in multiple places. Due to the intuitive user interface of the solutions, very few training or skills materials were necessary. The Market Dojo / Per Angusta partnership has delivered a turnkey solution for the entire Interserve procurement team.
